Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus Review
What Can We Expect from the GeekVape Aegis Boost Plus?
The Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus is an Aegis device, so it's shock, dust, and water-resistant.
It's slightly larger than the original, and the display has been upgraded, even capable of color changes, though it remains quite standard.
Although the maximum wattage remains at 40W, there's a significant power difference. The original had an integrated 1500mAh internal battery, but the GeekVape Aegis Boost Plus uses an external 18650, which can go up to 3,500 mAh.
Other than what's mentioned above, they all look quite similar.
Let's take a look.

Design and Build Quality
Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus Mod
From the side, it almost looks like a standard Aegis Mod.
That being said, I recently reviewed the Geekvape Aegis Max, and the mod has almost identical functionality, so perhaps it's a standard Aegis mod without the 510 connector.
Like other Aegis devices, the frame can be swapped with other Aegis Boost Plus frames by removing the T6 Torx Screws.
It looks great and the ‘ergonomic grip is just wonderful to hold and fits nicely in your hand.
Let's not forget its iconic durability; the Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus looks and feels dustproof, waterproof, and shockproof, but we'll give it a good test later in the review.
Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus Cartridge
The pod is enormous, longer than it is wide.
It's easy to see the liquid level, but what I like most is the placement of the coil information. The coil information is not on the side of the coil, and even with the most thoughtfully designed coils, it can be hard to see the information.
However, the Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus coils are push-pull coils, and their information is written on the bottom. I think this is one of those small things that makes a significant difference, especially in terms of convenience.
Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus Airflow
The adjustable airflow is on the front of the device. Although it's the same as the original Boost, it's a very innovative design.
It's easy to adjust, but not so easy to change by itself.
The airflow is very flexible for a 40W kit, providing ample airflow for 40W DTL vaping and is almost airtight when fully closed.
Geekvape Aegis Boost - Display
Although the display has been upgraded, it's very typical for an Aegis Kit (except for the Aegis X Kit).
At the top is the mode (Power - VW, TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC, Bypass).
Below that is a great-looking battery level indicator divided into 6 segments.
Then in the middle is the current setting (Temperature or Wattage). At the very bottom is the usual information: Resistance, Amperage, Volts, and puff count.
Geekvape Aegis Boost - Battery
Geekvape chose to stick with the popular 18650 sized battery instead of larger batteries, which are gaining popularity.
However, this isn't a bad thing; you have to decide on the size versus the battery for such a design.
That said, I think Geekvape made the right decision, though a larger battery wouldn't have made much difference in size, I guess it's all about the perfect size. And for a 40W kit, let's face it, do you really need a larger battery?
I don't think so.
Although the battery is external, the kit uses a Micro USB charger.
Geekvape Aegis Boost - Battery Cap
Aegis mods typically feature 2 types of battery caps: screw-on or latch.
I believe this mainly depends on whether it's a mod or a dual battery device; either way, I'm very happy to see that the Geekvape Aegis Boost Plus has a screw-on cap.
The screw-on cap is secure, waterproof, and has its own handle.
There's even a flathead screwdriver slot in case it's too tight; it can be a bit stiff, but that's due to its waterproof nature.
The threads are nice and smooth, but it can be a bit difficult to put the cap on due to the battery spring. This isn't a major hurdle, just remember to push while screwing it in.
