Smoant Pasito Pod Mod E-Cigarette Review

Smoant Pasito Review

Another pod vape has hit the market! The Smoant Pasito  looks a lot like the SMOK Trinity Alpha, but offers many more options to better suit individual vaping preferences. It has a consistent wattage output with five different wattage levels to choose from, adjustable airflow, and replaceable coils. It also has USB-C charging for faster charge times, a 3ml pod capacity, and a threaded top cap for refilling.

Out of the box, the Pasito comes with a 0.6ohm mesh coil designed for DTL and a 1.4ohm coil designed for MTL. However, the most interesting feature of the Pasito is that you can buy a rebuildable deck and build your own coils. This is the first mass-marketed pod system to do this, and it definitely piqued my interest.

I've been using the Smoant Pasito for a few weeks now and I'll go over everything you need to know in this review.

The Smoant Pasito comes in one of the most beautiful boxes I've seen. It's magnetically sealed and opens like a book. Inside, there's a page printed with the same pattern as the mod. It opens up like double doors from the center to reveal the contents of the box. Once I saw this, I was already impressed.

It has a long, rectangular shape that is eerily similar to the Lost Vape Orion Q, SMOK Trinity Alpha, and countless other recently released pod vapes. It's by no means a unique form factor. What is unique is the design. I got the red color, and the metallic paint is very nice. It has a nice sheen and holds up well without scratches or scuffs. It also repels fingerprints, ensuring a clean aesthetic when in use.

The resin-like panels are also gorgeous. They aren't actually resin, but rather CPR plates. These plates are also fingerprint-resistant and durable against wear. I think the panels on this red device are the most beautiful of the four available devices. They look like an aerial view of a desert and ice landscape.

A nice touch is that the drip tip on the Pasito matches the design of the panels. It's a narrow and long drip tip that's comfortable for vaping. It's approximately the size of a 510 drip tip.

There are two buttons on the side of the Pasito. The firing button is the larger of the two. It's a metal button with rings etched into it for grip. It's a bit clicky but nice and tactile. It also requires the right amount of force to activate so it doesn't accidentally fire in your pocket.

The placement of the fire button on the device is a bit low, so you'll have to hold the device with your ring finger if you want to use your thumb. Otherwise, you'll need to fully grip the sides of the device. You can also use your index finger. In any case, this means you can't palm the device and vape at the same time.

The small button is for adjusting the wattage. There's an LED indicator on the front of the device with 5 LEDs, each representing a different wattage setting. These are 10W, 13W, 16W, 20W, and 25W. You can click the wattage button once to display your current wattage setting. If you click it again, it will cycle through the five wattage levels.

Pod and CoilsThe pod has a dark tint, which makes it difficult to see your e-juice level. You have to hold it up to the light to check. On the bright side, you can do this while the pod is installed.

The pod attaches magnetically to the device using a tracking system. Let me just say, the magnet is impressively strong. It pulls the pod along the track with enough force to ensure it won't accidentally detach. Once the pod is installed, there's no wiggle whatsoever, and the pod sits snugly and solidly in the device.

The drip tip on the pod doubles as the fill cap. To access the fill port, you simply pull the drip tip off the top of the pod. The chimney in the middle of the port doesn't give you much room to fit the tip of your bottle, so you have to be careful when filling. I struggled to get dropper bottles in without making a mess. It's doable if you take your time though.

The Pasito uses replaceable coils. There are two coils in the box:

1 x 0.6ohm Mesh Coil for DTL

1 x 1.4ohm Ni80 coil for MTL

You can also buy the RBA coil separately if you want to build your own coils. I haven't had a chance to get my hands on the RBA coil yet, but I'll update this review as soon as I do.

Installing the coil is easy. Start by pulling the square, gold contact from the bottom of the pod. Then, thread the coil into the contact and push everything back into the bottom of the pod.

Both coils performed well with 50/50 regular e-juice and 70/30 nicotine salt e-juice. Also, I had absolutely no leaks with either coil.

Airflow

On top of the pod, there's a small switch that can be used to adjust the airflow. There isn't much room to adjust it though. I wish there was more play in the airflow because even though it's adjustable, it doesn't give you a very large range to work with.

With the 0.6ohm coil, you get an airy DTL draw with the airflow open. With the airflow closed, it's a slightly restricted DTL draw.

With the 1.4ohm coil, you get an airy MTL draw with the airflow open. Closing the airflow completely results in a slightly restricted MTL. It's not a tight MTL though. Keep this in mind if you're looking for a very tight and restricted draw.

Battery
Smoant Pasito Pod Mod E-Cigarette Review

The Pasito is regulated by the ANT chipset. It has an 1100mAh battery, which is very large for a pod vape, but the consistent wattage output means your battery will drain faster depending on the wattage level you set. Vaping at the 4th and 5th wattage levels (20 & 25W), I was able to get a full day of vaping from the Pasito. I even had some battery life left at the end of the day.

The wattage LED on the front of the device also doubles as a battery life indicator. When you press the fire button, the LED indicator will light up. Battery levels are:

Five LEDs: 100-80%

Four LEDs: 80-60%

Three LEDs:
